Paint Correction — Stage 1, Stage 2 & Paint Correction+

Deeper than
new.

Swirls, etching and holograms leveled out under the lamps, so the gloss you see is the paint itself, and whatever goes on top has something worth protecting.

What it removes

Everything between you and the color.

Film and ceramic are clear. They magnify what is under them and lock it in. So before anything goes on top, the paint is read under the lamps and corrected until the only thing left to see is color.

01

Swirls & wash marks

The fine circular scratches from years of washing that turn dark paint gray in sunlight. Polished flat, so the color reads deep again.

02

Etching

Bird droppings, bugs, hard water and sap bite into the clear coat. Correction levels the surface so the mark is gone, not hidden under a glaze.

03

Holograms & buffer trails

The ghosting a rushed polish leaves behind at a dealer or body shop. Refined out under the lamps, panel by panel.

04

Deep defects

Runs, texture and sanding marks from a repaint. Paint Correction+ wet sands them flat, corrects, then brings the gloss all the way back.

How ours differs

Read under the lamps. Corrected in order.

01 — Under the lamp

Read first.
Polish second.

Every panel is read under the lamps before a pad touches it: what has been repainted, what is a scratch and what is only a swirl, and which stage the paint actually calls for. The plan is written on the car in front of us, not picked off a menu, and sometimes that car is brand new.

02 — Stage by stage

Two stages.
Then the plus.

Stage 1 is a single refining polish, for light swirls and paint that is nearly there. Stage 2 cuts first and refines second, for etching, holograms and years of washing. Paint Correction+ goes further, in a fixed order: wet sanding first, a Stage 2 correction next, fine polishing last. Nothing is skipped and nothing is done out of turn.

Washed and fully decontaminated before any polishing starts.

02

Read it under the lights

Every panel read under the lamps: repaint, scratch or swirl, and which stage it calls for.

Correct, stage by stage

Stage 1, Stage 2, or Paint Correction+: wet sanding first, Stage 2 next, fine polishing last.

Ask a question
Do I need paint correction before film or ceramic?

Usually some level of it. Film and coating are clear, so they lock in whatever is under them, and a swirl under film is there for the life of the film. Even a brand new car off the transporter often carries dealer wash marks. We read the paint first and tell you what it needs, which is sometimes nothing.

What is the difference between Stage 1, Stage 2 and Paint Correction+?

Stage 1 is one refining polish, for light swirls. Stage 2 adds a cutting pass before the refining pass, for etching, holograms and heavier marring. Paint Correction+ is for deep defects and runs in a fixed order: wet sanding first, a Stage 2 correction next, then fine polishing to bring the gloss back. Film or ceramic on top is a separate step, quoted with the correction.

Does correction remove paint?

Yes, a very small amount of clear coat is refined away. That is what levels a defect. The aim is to remove as little as possible, which is why the paint is inspected first and the least aggressive stage that works is the one we start with. A scratch that goes through the clear coat is a paint job, not a polish, and we will say so.

Will the swirls come back?

The correction itself does not fade. The defect is gone. New swirls come from how the car is washed afterwards, which is why a ceramic coating or film on top makes the finish so much easier to keep.

Can you fix a bad repaint or orange peel?

Often, yes. That is what Paint Correction+ is for. Wet sanding levels texture, runs and sanding marks from a repaint, then the Stage 2 correction and a fine polish bring the gloss back. It depends on how much paint there is to work with, so it always starts with an inspection under the lamps.
